In Math:
- continuing with our work exploring our world as a village of one hundred
- students will begin painting the mural, showing different aspects of our village (nature, people, transportation, population, etc.).
- through mural art we will begin work on percent, fractions, decimals and ratios.
In Science:
- investigating human impact on forests, both positive and negative.
In Humanities:
- Reviewing and Connecting the Four Pillars of democracy to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
- Charter quiz on Wednesday/Thursday. Review the main points within each of the seven categories and be ready to make direct connections to the four pillars of democracy. Students will be asked to provide real life examples of this connection (as practiced in the skits).
Some examples are;
The pillar "Representation" is present in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms by ensuring my "Democratic Right" to vote in an election to choose a representative to speak and make decisions on my behalf.
The pillar "Equity" is imbedded in the Charter by ensuring my "Equality Rights" to have fair and equal access to services regardless of my culture, gender, ethnicity or religion.

- We have been reviewing place value and numbers in standard, word and expanded form, as we work with some of the large numbers depicted at the beginning of the book.
In Science:
- we have been discussing the importance of forests and working at submitting work to be proud of.
In Humanities:
- Students have examined the Charter of Rights and Freedoms through seven categories of Rights (Democratic, Legal, Minority/Collective)
- In groups students conducted research on specific rights within one of the categories and prepared and performed a skit. Amazing job!
