- Reading response to record independent reading
- Introduced to the upcoming (December 17, 18, 19th) book review presentations. Students who choose to work with a partner are to submit their book and parter choice to Mrs. Lowe on Monday or Tuesday. This Assignment is shared on Google drive.
Math:
- Ratio review
- Fractions
- Percent
Science
- Beginning Evidence and Investigation
Humanities:
- Continuation with the mock Agora. Students are really getting into this activity and are becoming very creative in their attempts to "make money for their family". Keep it up grade 6!
- The people (students) of grade 6 (Athens) will hold an 'Assembly' to make a decision that affects the 'city-state' around a choice activity. Ask students about the challenges and highlights of their role.
- Vocabulary: protagonist, antagonist, internal conflict, external conflict, genre, theme
- Home Journal. Excellent work getting these in every week folks! Students are to complete all criteria as pasted into the front of their journal the best they can. Sometimes these get a bit rushed, however can be completed at home. Be sure not to 'list' the weekly activities, but to explain or describe one highlight and one challenge so parents can picture your life at school.
- Reminder: Vocabulary Ring Check-in on Dec 3. Don't leave this to the last minute!
CTF:
6-1 - started Environmental Stewardship with Ms. MacDonald
6-2 - started Artist Trading Cards with Ms. O'Hearn
Important Notes:
- Monday, November 19th (every Monday) - Sign Language Club in Ms. Varner's room
- Wednesday, November 21st - Field Trip to CPO (8:30am-1pm)
- We still need 3 volunteers for our CPO field trip. Please contact Ms. Woolfrey or Ms. Lowe if you have a valid CBE police security clearance and are able to come with us Wednesday morning.
- No classes this upcoming Friday Nov. 23
- Friday, November 23rd - 7:15am - Gr 5, 6 & 7 Volleyball Club
- If anyone has any exercise equipment at home they do not use (yoga mats, a stationary bike, tubing, medicine balls, etc.) and would like to donate it to Ms. Woolfrey's classroom, that would be awesome!
- The magic word is 'Elephant'. When Ms. Woolfrey or Mrs. Lowe ask you if you know the magic word, be sure to remember this and whisper it in secret to get a treat. Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone. We want to see which students are reading this important Blog:-)
