Looking Back:
Humanities:
- Students have almost finished their Mosaic Art pieces through the Agora Role Play activity. All students have taken on the role of either a Citizen, Metic or Slave for the week, and have learned how each of these positions influence their ease and ability to succeed at a challenging task. With only four people in each class able to move and access supplies freely, many learned about the frustrations and barriers that were placed upon the people of ancient Athens. This helped amplify each of the four pillars of democracy and deepen their appreciation for the current day Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
- Students have all signed up for a time slot to present their book review during the week of December 17-20. Remember, this is not a heavy writing task. It is not a summary retell or recap of the book. I want to see your understanding of character and make real life connections to conflict and theme. This should be should be FUN! (whether you like it or not!) Please write the date down on your family calendar so the book can be read by both partners a week ahead of time. Details are shared in Google Drive.
