Humanities:
- Novel Study: Fluency Focus on Rate. All students are approaching the end of their novels and it has been my absolute pleasure to watch how much the enthusiasm towards reading and investment in the characters has erupted! Some of the dystopic content has become quite intense so feel free to talk with your families about these themes (ie: love, truth, safety, power, choice)
- Picture Prompt Narrative writing practice
- Government: students voted by private ballot for a councillor from each ward and a Mayor from each Class to provide leadership for our new city.

1 ~Finish your Home Journal (include a highlight with details, a challenge with details and include a way of improving or working on your challenge (you can reflect on your picture prompt story writing, voting, or science presentations). *Also, as one part of your Home Journal, write a prediction for how you think the novel you are reading will end (Problem to Solution). This should be a 3-5 sentence guess and will be shared and copied into your writing notebook next week.

- Writing will continue with editing practice. Students and will fine tune the stories they wrote earlier this week. The students will edit using the narrative rubric from Alberta Ed with a focus on the two elements: "Organization" and "Vocabulary".
- The newly elected City Council of our class city will meet on Monday at lunch to discuss next steps for our city. The Mayor will delegate responsibilities via departments and the building will commence!
